12/28/2013 I built this Italeri 1/48 MH-60K BlackHawk SOA helicopter for my son Barry who had just gone through a 9 hour open heart surgery a couple of months before. The kit is a straight forward build, but the instructions leave a little to be desired. That said this is a great kit and I would build it again. I also used the Eduard FE497 MH-60K interior set which is very nice, but you can hardly see any of the instrument panels when it's all closed up. I also used the Eduard mask set for this and found it to be very useful. I painted to overall Tamiya olive drab and when decaled it looked very nice. On to the pictures…

F-14B Tomcat
12/28/13 I built this model for my neighbor last month. It's his favorite aircraft and I must admit I love it too. This is the 1/72 HobbyBoss kit and is just a real jem, easy to put together and looks great when it's finished. The only problem I had was with the decals which would just tear apart with the slightest tension and did not respond to setting solution at all. I also used Eduards masking set for the canopy. After putting the kit together I sanded down the seams, sprayed it with Tamiya Fine Surface Primer then shot it with Tamiya Light Grey. After than I shot it with Future and put the decals on. Then another coat of Future and finally finished it off with ModelMaster flat. I shot the front windscreen with Tamiya clear green to tint it. The decal scheme was for the Jolly Rogers as that just looks cool. Now on to the pictures…
