I built this for my daughter Summer. It has a fully wired engine and Bare Metal Foil for trim. I made custom license plates for it that read Summer. It was a fun build – but with cars you need to really get a smooth shiny finish and that takes some extra care. The decals weren’t so great – the white stripes allowed some color bleed through. Next time I’ll paint them. It was fun to build and to wire up the engine area. I haven’t built a car model in about – well a long time and this one was a blast to do.

SBD-5 – Accurate Miniatures 1/48
On May - 18 - 2009
This is the first Accurate Miniatures model that I built. I finished it in early 2004. I didn’t add anything to the build – strictly out of the box. The plane is highly detailed. I added the radio wire using smoke colored invisible thread. The only problems I had with the build was the dive brakes – which were warped; I never could get them really straight – and the decals had pieces that flaked off in a couple of places.
